This five-day River Styles Short Course was specifically developed as a training course for river management professionals. It has been successfully run in Australia and overseas since 2000. Over 500 individuals have participated in the courses to date.

Emphasis is be placed on identification and interpretation of River Styles. The course provides detailed analysis of Stage 1 of the River Styles Framework (Baseline Survey of River Character and Behaviour), with insights into Stages 2-3 (Assessment of River Condition, Assessment of Recovery Potential) and applications of River Styles assessments and databases in Prioritisation and River Management (Stage 4).

Through presentations, field visits to a range of different River Styles, practical activities including air photograph interpretation and field analyses, you receive tuition in how to undertake analysis and interpretation of river character, behaviour, naming and patterns of River Styles in catchments.
